Dreaming of staying in Cabo at a resort with a swim-up room?
We’re with you! There’s no denying the joy of slipping straight from your terrace into the pool.
Forget the hassle of reserving a pool chair or hunting for a quiet corner – your own personal lounge area is right outside your room, with the pool just steps away.
It’s the perfect set-up for couples craving privacy and romance, especially honeymooners. Families will love it too, as the kids can splash around while you kick back on your terrace lounger.
In Los Cabos, this is a smart move.
While you can swim at some beaches, many aren’t safe due to rips and strong waves. So having a room with direct pool access makes all the difference if you’re not at a resort with a swimmable beach.
Here, we’ve sussed out the five best hotels in Cabo with swim-up rooms. (And just to clarify, these aren’t private pool suites, but rooms that let you step into a shared pool from your patio or terrace.)
1) Paradisus Los Cabos
Recently renovated, Paradisus Los Cabos is a deluxe all-inclusive resort for adults only.
It has 350 well-appointed rooms (435 square feet in size), decorated in soothing shades of white, and featuring an egg-shaped soaker tub in your room.
Opt for The Reserve level to enjoy a swim-out room and VIP benefits like a personal concierge, an exclusive pool and a private lounge with snacks and cocktails.
You won’t get bored with the food.
The resort has seven restaurants and seven bars (including a swim-up bar). La Palapa is just for The Reserve guests and offers open-air dining with Sea of Cortez views. (Keep an eye out for whales in the winter!)
What’s special?
Paradisus is one of the rare Cabo resorts with a beach that’s safe for swimming – and here that beach hugs a gorgeous turquoise cove. So when you want to switch it up, you can easily go from poolside lounging to diving into the ocean.
Swim-up rooms
The swim-up guest rooms are tucked away in the resort’s exclusive “The Reserve” VIP section.
These suites have it all – a king-size bed, a cozy lounge area with a sofa-bed and 50-inch flat-screen TV, a Nespresso machine (for early morning coffee by the pool) and a sleek bathroom with a double rain shower.
And when you’re ready for a dip, simply walk right down the steps from your terrace into the private pool in this VIP section (shared only with other VIP guests).
Luxury level and price point
With its unbeatable beachfront location and upscale amenities, Paradisus Los Cabos is an excellent choice for adults craving a good-quality getaway at a reasonable price. (Just a heads-up – it’s popular with groups, who sometimes get a little wild on their first day.)
For a similar upscale vibe, also check out Hyatt Ziva (#5 below). It offers a comparable experience, but at slightly lower all-inclusive rates.
Snapshot summary
- Location: On Tequila Cove along the Tourist Corridor, between the two towns of Cabo san Lucas and San Jose del Cabo
- Swimmable beach? Yes
- Best for: Adult singles, couples and groups of friends
2) Nobu Hotel Los Cabos
Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is where Zen meets the Baja vibe – a luxury AAA Four-Diamond Resort, recommended by the Michelin Guide, but without any over-the-top flashiness.
Co-founded by Japanese culinary genius Nobu Matsuhisa, along with Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper, this place oozes cool without trying too hard. Think a design blend of modern Japanese minimalism and desert chic.
All rooms have traditional Onsen teak soaking tubs, cloud-like Nobu beds with organic cotton linens and Italian stone bathroom vanities.
Foodies will be delighted by the dining options – important since the hotel (which isn’t all-inclusive) is located about 20 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, making it likely you’ll dine in.
Of course, there’s the famed Nobu Restaurant. But you’ve also got a rooftop Mediterranean spot, a fine dining Mexican resto and a steakhouse, along with 24-hour room service. There’s also a champagne bar for a little extra indulgence.
The fitness center is top-notch – offering yoga, Pilates, Tabata and other fitness classes you’ll actually enjoy!
Afterward, unwind at the world-class Esencia Wellness Spa. One of Cabo’s finest spas, it features an outdoor hydrotherapy garden and a full menu of blissful Asian-inspired therapies.
Swim-up rooms
The sleek Deluxe Swim-Up rooms are a spacious 514 square feet in size and come with your choice of two queen beds or a king bed.
Featuring views of the swimming pool or garden, they embrace indoor-outdoor living, with natural stone flooring and sliding glass doors that bring the outside in.
Luxury level and price point
Nobu Los Cabos sits at the pinnacle of luxury. It’s the most exclusive and expensive Los Cabos hotel with swim-out rooms covered in our list – and the priciest.
It’s not all-inclusive and dinner for two, with drinks, at the Nobu Restaurant alone could set you back up to $700 USD.
Still, room rates are far more reasonable than at some of the area’s other top luxury hotels, like One & Only Palmilla.
Snapshot summary
- Location: On a secluded stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline, about a 20-minute drive from Cabo San Lucas
- Swimmable beach? No
- Best for: Couples looking for a quiet luxurious retreat, who appreciate modern Zen-like aesthetics
3) Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort
Like Paradisus (#1 above) Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is an adults-only, all-inclusive retreat. It’s located just outside of San Jose del Cabo.
Set on 18 lush acres, this resort is all about relaxation with a dash of excitement – perfect for singles, groups of friends and couples alike.
With 500 spacious suites decked out in romantic Mexican style, complete with jetted tubs and private terraces, you’ll be lounging in luxury.
Cool off in the seaside infinity pool or hit the greens on two adjacent nine-hole golf courses. Looking for more? Try aqua cycling (yep, biking in the pool!), tequila tasting, beach volleyball, and even archery – there’s no shortage of fun here.
As for where to eat, choose from five à la carte restaurants plus a buffet venue, a grill and a café. Expect good food, though it may not always blow you away.
Swim-up rooms
Book a Junior Swim-Out Suite (560 square feet), on the ground floor, and you can step right into the main pool from your furnished terrace. You can choose between two double beds or a king-size bed, with either a garden or ocean view.
For a more elevated experience, upgrade to one of the swim-up luxury suites in the Preferred Club. You’ll get exclusive access to a private pool only for Preferred Club guests, as well as perks like a personal concierge, an enhanced minibar (with premium drinks) and entry to the Preferred Club Lounge.
Choices? The Preferred Club Junior Swim-Out Suites are 581 square feet in size, while the Preferred Club Master Swim-Out Suites take luxury to the next level at 1,163 square feet.
Luxury level and price point
One of the best all-inclusive hotels in Cabo with swim-up rooms, Secrets boasts a 5-star rating and an AAA Four Diamond status, much like Nobu Los Cabos (see #2).
However, it’s not quite in the same league as Nobu, which is more intimate, luxurious and famed for its standout dining. Secrets is more wallet-friendly, especially when you factor in the cost of food and drinks. (Nobu isn’t all-inclusive.) Secrets also offers way more on-site activities and entertainment.
On the other hand, if comparing Secrets with Paradisus (#1 above), Secrets comes out on top. It’s a notch superior and nicer overall.

- Location: About a 10-minute drive east of San Jose del Cabo
- Swimmable beach? No
- Best for: Singles, couples and groups of friends
4) Hard Rock Los Cabos
The 4-star Hard Rock Los Cabos is a large and rockin’ family-friendly resort that cranks up the energy!
Opened in 2019, Hard Rock Los Cabos is bright, modern and new-looking, and filled with endless activities.
With no less than five pools, pool parties featuring DJs and aqua aerobics, there’s always something happening. Families love the kids’ club, teens’ club and exciting water slides.
By day, you can hit the arcade, go bowling or chill by the pool – there’s even an adults-only pool (Rhythm Pool) with underwater music! By night, catch live shows, belt out karaoke or dance the night away at the nightclub.
What’s especially cool? Music takes center stage. Borrow a Fender® guitar and head phones, rock out with in-room lessons, head to the Music Lab for jam sessions – or even record your own music track in their recording studio!
Throw in eight restaurants (the fan fave is Zen, a teppanyaki-style eatery for Japanese and Chinese dishes) plus 12 bars – and you’ve got a recipe for all-inclusive fun with an epic musical twist.
Swim-up rooms
For easy access to the pool, book a “Rock Suite Swim-Up Oceanfront.”
Your spacious suite – whether a one-bedroom (1,240 sq. ft.) or two-bedroom (1,762 sq. ft.) option – comes with a terrace with an outdoor Jacuzzi tub. From the terrace, steps lead down to a semi-private pool, shared with other swim-up suites – ideal for a refreshing dip whenever you or the kids feel like it!
Luxury level and price point
Hard Rock Los Cabos is a solid 4-star resort with attractive rooms and plenty of upscale touches – centered around lively entertainment and music-themed experiences. Price-wise, it falls in the mid-to-high range for Cabo San Lucas, but usually comes in at a more affordable rate than Paradisus (#1 above).
Snapshot summary
- Location: About 20 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, on a quiet stretch of beach facing the Pacific Ocean
- Swimmable beach? No
- Best for: Younger couples, families (thanks to their lively kids’ club with lots of cool activities) and groups of friends seeking a fun and entertaining vacay
5) Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos
If you’re visiting Cabo with kids, the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is another upscale family-friendly pick. With more than 590 rooms, it offers a ton of activities and amenities, including volleyball courts, an oceanfront fitness center and a luxury spa.
Families will love the KidZ Club and pool, complete with five waterslides and a mini water park (currently getting a facelift). For teens, the games room has pool tables and arcade games to keep them busy. Each night brings a new show, from magic acts to live music.
For adults, there’s a tucked-away adults-only pool with a swim-up bar, though it lacks ocean views. The main pool by the beach is the most popular spot, with games and music adding to the lively atmosphere.
Hungry? With 14 bars and restaurants, including a kids’ buffet and adults-only bars, there’s something for every taste. (Go before 6:00 pm if vacationing with kids to avoid long wait times.)
Note: Parts of the resort are being renovated through to mid-2025, so check for updates before booking if you have any concerns.
Swim-up rooms
The Club Swim-Up Master Suites at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos are a generous 755 square feet in size, with pool and garden views.
Available with either a king bed or two doubles, they feature handmade Mexican ceramic floors and elegant wooden furniture with marble tops. Best of all, you can enjoy a enjoy a private patio with in-water lounge chairs and direct access to either the main or adults-only pool pool.
As these are Hyatt Club Level rooms, you get exclusive access to the Club Lounge with premium drinks, appetizers, continental breakfast and more. Plus, your suite comes with an in-room minibar, an espresso machine and complimentary sparkling wine.
Note: Children must be 13 or older to stay in these rooms.
Luxury level and price point
Let’s start by saying that the Hyatt Ziva is an appealing all-inclusive option for families. While it’s a bit older than the Hard Rock Los Cabos (#4), and the rooms aren’t as polished (though many have been or are being renovated), it still offers a great experience.
There’s more activity here compared to the quieter Paradisus Los Cabos (#1), but you can still enjoy a relaxing stay.
For those with Hyatt reward points, this resort provides excellent value, making it a smart choice for a luxury vacation without a hefty price tag.
Snapshot summary
- Location: Close to San Jose del Cabo, which is about a 25-minute walk away
- Swimmable beach? No (but the beach is beautiful for walking and horseback riding!)
- Best for: Families, though couples will also enjoy it here
