11 Best Spas in Cabo, Mexico, For a Day of Pampering

As travel journalists, it’s our job to report all the nitty gritty to you. And sometimes that nitty-gritty is really gritty.

But we are true to our craft and only want the best for you. So we took one (er, some!) for the team and went spa-hopping to find the best spas in Cabo. Just for you! You’re welcome…

All of these are Los Cabos spas.

But we’ve organized them according to the three main areas. That way, you can find the best spa closest to where you’re staying.

However, when planning a trip to Cabo, you could always rent a car and follow in our spa-loving footsteps.

Just as you’d suspect, the best spas are in some of the best resorts in Cabo. But even though these spas are mostly associated with hotels, all of them are open to outside guests.

Best spas in Cabo

Best spas in Cabo San Lucas

It’s hard to choose the best spa in Cabo San Lucas town, but we’ve narrowed it down to five for you here.

It’s a rough job, but we pulled through. Thank goodness for all that lemony water, or we would have been exhausted!

1) Waldorf Astoria Spa

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos spa

The Waldorf Astoria Spa was designed by one of the world’s most renowned spa designers. Who knew there was such a thing?

The spa draws inspo from both the moon and the sea.

With water features like an ice cave, grottos, whirlpools, saunas and saltwater meditation pools, plus “Moon Phase Treatments” that have different body scrubs, wraps and massages to restore, awaken, calm or nourish, you’ll feel at one with the earthly elements here.

Especially after a shaman, whom they’ve dubbed the spa guardian, honors you with the unique experience of a Mexican folk healing ritual.

But what else would you expect from one of the best luxury spa resorts in Mexico?

2) Esencia Wellness at Nobu Hotel

Esencia Spa at Nobu Los Cabos

If you can’t find pure bliss at Nobu’s Esencia Wellness Spa, you may need to see a therapist. After all, the Nobu is known as one of the best spa hotels in Cabo San Lucas.

The Asian-inspired treatments use natural elements to lull you into the pure unadulterated relaxation you came for.

Start with the outdoor hydrotherapy garden with co-ed lounges. It has a water circuit, outdoor rain showers and a hydrotherapy pool to get you in a Zen-like mood.

Then head to one of the 13 private treatment rooms for an opulent “Diamond Facial” or a “Japanese Silk” body exfoliation, massage and face treatment.

3) Cabo San Lucas Desert Spa (at Villa del Arco)

Cabo San Lucas Desert Spa at Villa Del Arco

The Cabo San Lucas Desert Spa (aka Desert Spa Los Cabos) is an award-winning spa at Villa del Arco. It has European-inspired wellness treatments.

From diamond dust and Damask Rose oil exfoliating massages to traditional hot stone massages, it’s a full-service spa with a range of services.

But unlike some spas here, there are special spa services for men, teens and kids aged five to 12.

If you’re vacationing in Cabo with your kids, your mini-me can get a twinkle toes pedi, a princess mani and a kid’s massage and facial.

Your teen can get a mani, pedi, massage, purifying facial and make-up application.

And not to be left out, Dad can get the old “Scrub and Rub” – a body scrub, rain shower and full body massage tailored to him.

Couples without kids can choose any number of unique Cabo spa treatments.

4) Saltwater Spa at Casa Dorada

Saltwater Spa at Casa Dorada

As the name implies, the Saltwater Spa at Casa Dorada uses the curative powers of the ocean in its range of treatments.

The massage therapists will whisk you away to Zen-ville with indulgent body treatments that incorporate natural ingredients like caviar, bamboo and, of course, tequila. It’s Mexico, after all!

Try their signature “Saltwater Holistic Ritual” and be treated to two hours of luxurious spoiling with an exfoliation treatment, then a body wrap, followed by a hydrating facial.

End the pampering sesh with a heavenly oil massage.

If you stay at this Cabo spa resort, you’ll get up to a 30% discount on spa services.

5) Eden’s Spa

Therapist gives a massage at Eden's Spa in Cabo San Lucas

Unlike the others on this list, Eden’s Spa is not a hotel spa. It’s a free-standing oasis near the famous El Medano Beach and one of the few cheap spas in Cabo San Lucas.

Aside from outstanding service and professional masseuses, their prices are low enough to entice you to go back a few days in a row.

Ninety-minute massages start at 1,200 MXN ($70 USD), an epic bargain compared to all the other massage therapies on this list (many of which are upwards of $400 USD).

But low prices don’t mean poor quality, shoddy treatments, or, dare we say it, happy endings.

It just means you can book more time (over)indulging at this Cabo San Lucas spa – and why shouldn’t you? You’re on vacation!

Nothing says you’ve been on holiday more than glowing skin and relaxed muscles. And they make it easy with 26 packages to choose from.

We’re not kidding! There is a package for every letter of the alphabet.

Janice goes for “Package R” – body exfoliation and a one-hour Swedish massage for 1,600 MXN ($94 USD).

George is all about “Package I” – a 90-minute Swedish massage and a classic pedicure, also for 1,600 MXN ($94 USD).

Eden’s Spa also has a mobile spa on Medano Beach, if you prefer your massage outdoors.

Best spas in Los Cabos along the Tourist Corridor

The Tourist Corridor stretches between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to phenomenal resorts with spas that’ll make you say adios to reality, at least temporarily.

6) The Spa at Esperanza, an Auberge Resort

Esperanza massage

The 14-room Spa at Esperanza is one of those spas that dreams are made of.

The spa menu takes its cues from the rejuvenating coastal desert that embraces the oceanfront Auberge Resort.

Treatments using sunbaked stones, seaweed, coconut and limes, along with aloe and clay body wraps, are the norm. It’s pure natural ecstasy.

But before you indulge in a spa experience at one of the best spa resorts in Cabo, take 30 minutes and enjoy their signature water passage experience to stimulate your lymphatic system and release stiff muscles.

Begin with a warm-spring soaking pool, then switch to the steam caves, and end it all with a cool waterfall rinse.

And all that is before you start your chosen treatment!

7) The Spa at Las Ventanas al Paraiso

Las Ventanas Spa, Los Cabos

Las Ventanas is one of the best Los Cabos spa resorts and is synonymous with luxury.

It’s where many celebs go to escape the paparazzi and their day-to-day lives. (We’ve stayed here and can say from personal experience that it’s fabulous.)

So, you’d expect the Las Ventanas Spa to be otherworldly too.

The spa menu is inspired by local traditions, ancient healers and rituals.

If you choose a “Holistic Twilight Ceremony” before your 90-minute massage, you’ll take part in an energy cleansing ritual the Mayans called limpia.

Just when the sun turns the sky into a moody painter’s palette of changing colors, a shaman uses sage smoke, music from crystal bowls and candles in a 30-minute ceremony to empower your spirit.

If that’s too woo-woo for you, go for the four-hour “Essential Collection” spa package.

It begins with a dry brushing to encourage lymph drainage. Then you’ll get a mole body scrub (a scrub made from chilies, chocolate, peanuts and more).

After an outdoor shower, you’ll be wrapped in indigenous herbs and plants like a human-sized sushi roll. Next up is a botanical bath and full body massage.

And since you’ll be famished from all that pampering, a lunch rounds out the experience.

Told ya, this spa is otherworldly!

8) Currents Spa at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel

Currents Spa at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, in Los Cabos

The ultra-modern and luxe Currents Spa at The Cape has minimalist low lighting and charcoal-colored walls, so your attention is focused on the breathtaking natural landscape around you.

The spa is built into a rock formation right off the sandy shore overlooking the Sea of Cortez; you can hear the sedative cadence of the waves.

You can book one of two alfresco treatment rooms to watch nature’s masterpiece, the setting sun, paint the sky with pastel hues as you get kneaded into tranquility.

We suspect you’ll melt into the massage tables, just like we did when we were there.

To start or finish your treatment, chill in the “relaxation lobby” with hot and cold plunge pools, fruit-infused waters, and of course, slices of cold cucumbers for your eyes.

(Despite our skepticism about the magical powers of cucumber slices, Janice sometimes applies them. Just in case there are some hidden superpowers!)

And if none of that does it for you, their Cabo wellness concierge can tailor something special for you that will.

Best San Jose del Cabo spas

If you’re unsure what the differences are between Cabo San Lucas vs. San Jose del Cabo, we understand. It’s confusing.

We love both areas, but for different reasons (and it’s why we wrote a post all about it).

9) Jasha Spa at JW Marriott

Jasha Spa at the JW Marriott Los Cabos

Jasha means goodbye in the once native language of the area, Cochimi. Goodbye to your stresses and hello to your new blissed-out self, we say!

The Jasha Spa at the JW Marriot infuses natural healing ingredients found in the area’s botanicals to promote detoxification, restoration and balancing of your mind and body.

Jasha is known for its modern Temazcal, a Mexican sweat lodge. The ancient Aztecs used Temazcals as a therapeutic place to promote healing, health and well-being.

The 90-minute ceremony is led by a Temazcalero – a master in the ancient art of well-being – who will guide you through your journey of inner discovery and rebirth for greater overall well-being.

Be sure to make an advance reservation because, as one of the top spas in San Jose del Cabo, it gets booked up.

If all that seems a bit too far-fetched for you, you can choose from good ol’ conventional treatments that won’t require you to chant like a mystic or question your life choices.

An outdoor pool, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, as well as aromatherapy, deep tissue and hot stone massages are all on offer here.

Stay at the JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa

10) One&Only Spa

One&Only Spa villa at the Palmilla hotel, Los Cabos

The One&Only Spa at the Palmilla hotel epitomizes luxe.

Built in 1955, the hotel is the OMG of luxury resorts. And its day spa is, hands down, one of our favorite spas in Los Cabos.

The 22,000 square feet of spa opulence is as modern as they come. It has 13 private treatment villas – yes villas! – with soaking tubs and outdoor beds for lazing.

Spoil yourself with a specialized local spa treatment drawing on thousands of years of tribal wellness – think healers, desert herbs, poultices and indigenous techniques. It’s ancient traditions meet modern luxury.

You can go for the Temazcal ceremony, sunrise purification ritual or a sleep therapy massage.

Or perhaps indulge in a two-hour “Magic Moment” couples experience?

After renewing your vows in a private oceanside palapa, the two of you will get 90-minute side-by-side massages with nothing but you and the soothing sounds of the waves to lull you into sheer euphoria.

There’s a reason the hotel is called the One&Only. It doesn’t get much better.

Although our wallets wept, we treasured our time there and were treated like pampered celebrities.

11) The Spa at Viceroy Los Cabos

Viceroy Los Cabos Spa

The Spa at Viceroy Los Cabos is known for its advanced wellness experiences.

The 11,000-square-foot spa has vitality pools hidden within a grotto, thermal chambers, ice fountains, hydromassage and experience showers. This is the place to fully escape and rebalance.

The spa uses the latest techniques while remaining true to a luxury San Jose del Cabo spa.

You can look forward to unique signature treatments with magnets to restore your PH level and establish normal cellular function.

It’s also the only spa in the world using the Harmonyum healing method to bring the mind and body into a state of equilibrium.

Even their more traditional treatments are extraordinary. For example, the “Detox + Destress” massage uses mud and thermal water from Tuscany.

And – woof, woof! – they even have a 30-minute canine massage for Fido.

But that must be done in your room. No pets in the spa.
